Just watched Samurai 7 episode 9. I really like Kyuzo! Never mind the horrible hairdo.

Also mugged in the library from 2-6pm today. Argh.

Found out that MOS (as in MOS Burger) stands for “Mountain Ocean Sun”.

And oh! Teresa came today!

To sapphirenite: Nope, I was inspired after watching Olympics gymnastics and reading a book written by an Olympic figure skater ^^;; But no dance classes for me now.

I really want to have my cake and eat it. There is a possibility that there will be an NUS handbell ensemble, and I really, really want to join that. Even if it means an overhaul of my life. Studies, handbell, aikido. (and the occasional cosplay. no problem man!)

I guess I just want to make as much of my life as possible before I enter into the all-work-and-no-life phase of my life, which’ll last till retirement.

To SteJuste: so that was you! Actually I think they’re discontinuing the H120. It wasn’t at the iRiver booth at Comex, and the sales rep said that they wouldn’t be bringing in any more stock. The H300, which has the colour screen, is a bit bulky; and the quality of the screen isn’t very good. Not to mention that it costs $700+ usually… there’s no way I can afford that. And oh, thanks for the link about MT 2.6.6.1!

I am now in a dilemma. One of my handbell juniors in NUS year 1 is trying to set up a handbell ensemble in NUS. I’d dearly love to join, but I really wonder if I’ll be able to commit. Unlike other activities, my absence at practice will implicate the rest – imagine trying to play a song on the piano with keys missing. I still want to carry on with Aikido.

To qich: Papa Robbins is going for $90 at Yunnan, but it’s not at co-op yet.

Is anything still possible in year 3, or does life end outside the hospitals?

I went to Comex today afternoon with Penance. He was looking for a Logitech mouse, while I was 90% sure that I was going to buy the Zen Touch. We went to the Creative booth before looking for Logitech, and thankfully, thankfully I didn’t buy the Zen Touch there and then, because the mouse that Penance bought happened to be the LAST one they had there!

The whole place was really crowded; I bet half the people were there just to catch last-minute offers, like Provos. I would have liked to see Provos again, but I was out of the hall when he SMSed me, and I really didn’t want to … perforate the crowd again. It was really bad ‘cos the passageways were so narrow and I found myself moving forward due more to external forces than internal ones. At times I was the only female in a congested capillary of stony-faced humans, though to the credit of our countrymen, I emerged unscathed.

We passed by one booth auctioning off a handphone – original price $699, sold to some guy for $490. We also passed by this huge, eye-catching LCD screen. A price tag read “$494″. Penance went, “Hah? I can’t believe it’s only $450!” Upon further inspection, we realised that the wall bracket was the item going for $490. The LCD screen itself was $9499 – an additional digit makes all the difference. After wandering around some more we chanced upon a little booth selling educational toys. The replica of the human body with detachable viscera was rather adorable. There was also this booth where this little kid of 9 or 10 tried to convince us to buy CD-Rs at $24/50pc by slamming CD-Rs sold at $18/pc. Hardsell doesn’t work, dear.

After having enough of people exhaling into our faces, we went downstairs and stared at Xbox games, where I met up with Aron. There was a moment of hilarity where it was revealed that Penance bought a mouse for $89, and Aron got a DVD-writer for $10 more.

I’m now transferring songs to my Zen Touch. I love it!!! The only thing the iPod has going for it is the wheel; the Zen Touch beats it in every other field like battery life and sound quality. And it’s silver, not white!

Also managed to buy the documentary-movie, “The Company”, from Gramaphone. Yeah :)

No desire to blog. I am depressed and bored. The only thing that keeps me going is the release of fansubs. (‘cos no more cosplay or matsuri in the foreseeable future.) Samurai Champloo is rather terrific; even the music starts growing on you. I actually LIKE the opening theme now.

And I bought Papa Robbins today (hefty book of Pathology which cost $90), which means that I have no more excuse to put off studying.

I’ve decided to go to Comex on Sunday afternoon instead. Saturday will be for checking out prices at Sim Lim, since Provos told me that the iriver iHP120 isn’t displayed at Comex. I hope Comex will be less crowded on Sunday compared to Saturday.

I think I’ll go down to Comex on Saturday afternoon, around 2-3pm. Anyone else wants to come?
To Penance: Logitech is participating in Comex, but I don’t know what they’re selling.

Today there was a short break before tutorial at 3.30pm, so I brought out my laptop and watched Samurai Champloo. Jeremy, Shaun and Ivan were highly entertained by it. *grin* And Shaun was bobbing around to the music – though I’d prefer to call the soundtrack a rhythmic series of auditory stimuli.

Let me highlight the stupidity of the timetable committee.

8-9: Lecture
9-12: Practical that involves ONE QUARTER OF THE CLASS while the remaining three-quarters have NOTHING on.
1-2: Tutorial that involves HALF the class while the remaining half has NOTHING on.
2-4: Tutorial and Practical that involves the WHOLE class.

Guess who’s in the unfortunate half of the class that has nothing from 9am to 2pm. *@$&#%(#)$)^$)%($*%

Just watched Singapore Idol. I like Olinda. But I can’t stand how all the contestants are nice and smiley and politically correct; or how Ken Lim keeps saying “You have to appeal to the masses.” Eeks.

I am filled with distaste at my life. Or lack of one.

Went jogging tonight when the rain ceased for a while. I have pretty good timing, I must say.

Who wants to go to Comex 2004?

I’ve read that the 3rd book of the Tamir trilogy by Lynn Flewelling is to be released this year. *yay*

STEJUSTE IS ALIVE!!!!!!!

To the anonymous commentor: thanks so much for your comment about the iriver iHP120. I’m going down to Comex 2004 this weekend because iRiver is launching the H300 (colour screen! nice but rather useless) then. And to see and touch the various competing models.

Am now watching the gymnastics gala on Central. I watched men’s diving yesterday, and concluded that I much prefer watching women’s diving. The men have too much flesh exposed *shudders in revulsion*

Conversation with an aikido senior today:
G: You dyed your hair again?
Me: Erm…no…I’ve only dyed it once in my life and it keeps fading.
G: Oh yah…it was pinkish at one point, then orange, then blonde…
Me: *weak smile* quite worth it, right?
G: Yup, so many colours with just one dye job!

My Matsuri photos are up here, if you’d like the original size image just tell me which one you want.

[Would anything have happened if I hadn't started to call, huh?]

It’s strange. I’d skip an afternoon lecture so I could go home early, but I wouldn’t even dream of doing so for a pre-lunch lecture to meet friends for lunch.

iriver HP120 or ipod or zen touch…argh argh argh…
