to the last part of the previous post: I aim to learn to walk, stand and sit like the average alpha male of any high school anime i.e. cool, suave, confident, and with a certain manly grace. (argh tough call. is there even anyone like that in medfac?) Stuffing one’s face certainly doesn’t fall within such criteria; but I thank Chaos Engine for his valuable input.

Speaking of which, I went with my family to Junction 8 today. I used to lament that my sister had different tastes in clothes from me. Now that lament is being applied to my brother. We both see a shop, rush into it excitedly, rush to the same rack equally excitedly, and … pull out shirts of vastly different shades. Male tops have really nice grungy prints.

To pyn: what’s EGL?
(my only understanding of that acronym is Elegant Gothic Lolita, ahahaha.)

About Singapore Idol:

I personally don’t think it’s important for the idol to be able to shine in every single genre that they force the contestants to undertake every week. Heck, you wouldn’t expect a great singer like Diana Krall to go sing disco right? The true Idol’s one who still manages to hold on to the audience’s support even after refusing to immerse himself/herself totally into that particular genre in question.

Just back from lynn’s Aeon sale. Tried on a navy blue sailor-inspired dress at her behest, but it’s weird seeing myself in that kind of thing. I wish Alanna had been there; then we’d be modeling lynn’s clothes and getting people to buy or something. gahahaha. Also managed to take a better look at Ayahito. From now on, if you catch me staring intently at guys, it is because I am DOING RESEARCH. How to walk, stand and sit like a guy.

To AA: Quanyi is indeed in NUS chem engineering. She goes for aikido too, so I do see her around. She’s still the same :) I don’t have her MSN contact, if she does have one.

Just tried making my own envelopes today.

Somehow pharmaco makes me do stupid things, like saying that “Competitive antagonism can be completely reversed by increasing substrate concentration” is false simply because I thought that that was only IF the antaonigst binded irreversibly. So I was the only idiot who went “AHA! But never say irrversible competitve antagonist! ALL FALSE!!!!!” AND happily shaded the ovals for that with nither a second thought.

Anyway, patho and pharmaco were -okay- not great, but I’ll do average (I hope). Considering that I do not spend all my nights studying in the library.

Today was rather fun, after CA. Went with Takeshi Kanasai, Addie, Ruth, Eddy and Raymond to Suntec for lunch. In usual Maedhros fashion we wandered around the Fountain Terrace for ages before finally settling on NYDC. After lunch, only Takeshi K wanted to watch a movie, so we ended up singing KTV till 7.40pm XD Things I learnt at KTV today:

1. Takeshi Kanasai has a really great range. Puts Addie to shame. My vocal range is terribly limited anyway so don’t compare anyone to me.

2. Raymond has hidden talent. Sang the Hokkien theme for Liang Po Po the Movie.

3. Eddy … is weird.

4. Takeshi K and Eddy sang “One Night In Beijing”, falsettos included. Ruth, Addie and I cracked up and didn’t stop.

5. The song “Ye4 Zi3″ by Ah San (?) has such a heartbreaking MTV. Actually brought tears to my eyes. It’s the classic girl-and-guy-are-in-love-but-guy-gets-run-over-car-and-dies-then-comes-back-as-ghost-but-the-girl-can’t-see-him-so-she-dedicates-her-concert-song-to-him-and-breaks-down-after-that. I confess, I had no idea the guy died till she erm…walked through his ghost, because his death scene looked like he just bumped into a stationery car; and then after his death he spent so long mulling around on overhead bridges instead of looking for her.

6. If Ruth, Addie and I ever decide to form a girl band we can ape S.H.E – Hebe, Selena and Ella respectively. And then we will call ourselves PAR or RAP.

7. Takeshi K does a really entertaining version of any Aqua song. When he did Barbie Girl…gosh…

8. “Zhi Fei Ji” (paper aeroplane) has really nice lyrics.

9. Ruth hides a lot behind her demure exterior. Check out her rendition of Tata Young and Britney Spears songs. Tsk tsk tsk. All have lyrics that run along the lines of “I’m not so innocent.” And me, the David Tao songs I chose had titles like “pu3 tong1 peng2 you3″ (normal friends)

Ah, it was fun. But rather tired now. Not even in the mood for watching anime.

NS was bad. bad. bad. bad. bad. bad. bad.

I know the stuff I really do but I just can’t seem to write the right thing down. I thought I studied hard but no no no no I still don’t recall anything that I study.

Gosh I’m really stupid.

One day before CA is a bad time to get re-addicted to Bejeweled.

Good luck, y’all.

Important dates: 31 Oct and 26 Dec.

Suddenly very sleepy.

It’s only 10.30pm!

Lunch break today was fun. Addie and I had grilled bakua. Shmeen dropped by to say “Having fun?” Ah, what would I do if Addie and Shmeen weren’t in medfac too!

Had a rather severe runny nose this morning, so I spent the morning mugging outside the library for once. And today was the day I just had to forget to bring my sweater or lab coat. Ugh.

Had lunch with raydance, kakita and shmeen. Or rather, shmeen was trying to study; I was displaying my notes on the table; raydance was drinking, and only kakita was eating. kakita’s a really fun guy, apart from the fact that he’s a dream come true for any struggling medicine student grappling with inherited disorders. Raydance and I have DIABOLICAL PLANS for him XD (And you wonder why we’re best friends?)

Couldn’t study in the library after that. Somehow I now find that I study quite well at home. Oh well.

Had time to spare today, so was looking at my face in the mirror while waiting for the dye to set.
