I watched it yesterday evening. In a nutshell, it’s worth the ticket price.

P.S. The trailer for Goblet of Fire looks really good, almost better than the book.

I did the waterworks again yesterday, argh. I can’t believe how easy it is to turn them on! And there was another person in the audience who had so much more reason that I did to be upset.

Anyway, I’ve gotten to the final stage of Chicken Invaders, and died there. Well, in the later levels my brain gave up trying to control my hand (since everything gets a lot faster) to wondrous results. Don’t think I’ll be playing it as much from now on since I’ve already seen the end.

Yesterday was Tata Young’s birthday party, though her actual birthday is some days from now. Well, at the stated time of 6pm, her church friends were there but only 2 medfac people had arrived – me and eNil. James came soon after, only to be devastated by the absence of pool cues in the nearby game room. Tata Young’s birthday cake was pink and huge O.o

Thus the onslaught of birthday parties has started. I can’t wait for Surgery posting to end because there’re so many fun things happening right after that!

15 Oct – Deepblue’s birthday
16 Oct – Lunch with extended family
17-19 Oct – Overseas.
22 Oct – Playhouse
24 Oct – My birthday
29 Oct – My party

And perhaps a JC gathering sometime in between.

I meant to blog about this some time ago, but am only doing it now as a break from finishing my writeup.

I’ve sat in the cars of a few friends thus far and I’ve noticed that most of them drive with one hand on the steering wheel; one with hand at 12 o’clock or 6 o’clock and with not much peripheral vision or lower limb dexterity. It is rather scary, especially since those few people have much less driving experience than I do.

Me, I make sure that my hands are at 9 o’clock and 3 o’clock always, perhaps because it’s been ingrained in me since my tender childhood and reinforced during driving school. Father, though an aggressive driver who performs breathtaking feats of overtaking and a graduate of an advanced driving course, keeps both hands at 9 and 3 o’clock ALWAYS. His following distance is still remarkable.

After sitting in the cars of other friends and being almost petrified at certain points, I now have admiration for those in my front seat who witness all my close shaves in stoic silence. (Yes WL this means you especially.) And have thus resolved to drive more safely. Some friends say I’m an aggressive driver, but I do hope I’m not reckless. The Daihatsu is a powerful little car but so light and fragile and with brakes that could be better, my following distance is still that of a newly-licensed driver. If you sit in my car and find me braking though I’m far from the car in front, it’s because I might not be able to brake in time, or I’m afraid that the idiot car on the adjacent lane is doing something funny.

On a lighter note, I curse the rise in petrol prices. I miss driving out to some part of Singapore I haven’t been before in the early morning on a Sunday or public holiday. I haven’t done that because I’m ever so aware now that petrol costs money >

This is my first try at email blogging to Flickr.

Hi all. In a fit of slackness, 2 other CGmates and I left CGH before lunch today. I’ve had a headache and sore throat all morning, which I attributed to waking at 5.15am to jog.

AA and I met for coffee at Takashimaya today. I have my second birthday present of the year! (The first being the CoRngress gift exchange.) It’s an autographed copy of Dianna Wynne Jone’s latest novel, “A Sudden Wild Magic”. She went to Cambridge in June for a booksigning and AA went! *very excited* By a stroke of luck, I managed to find a Peter Rabbit diary for AA. It comes with stickers, she discovered. After that we went to Art Friend, where AA decided to embark on a quilling career. It’s great to talk to you again :) Really hope you get to come back in December.

Speaking of birthdays, Deepblue and I agree that thinking of a guestlist “feels like thinking of who u’re abt to insult”.

Very unfortunately, I think I’ve lost one of my earring boxes. It contains my ARTIRIS EARRINGS!!!!! And the only decent pair (i.e. not safety pin / lighting bolt / ninja ) of silver earrings I own.

A blazing afternoon sun signified beautiful photos but much suffering on our part. lynn, ying, cvy, shuui, min and I went to Marina Bay to take photos. lynn and I were doing Tsubasa cosplay; cvy, ying and min were Bengs masquerading as characters from Hikaru no Go; shuui was photographer and manager and cape-carrier and …

The park is a pretty nice place with a gorgeous sky line! It reminded me somewhat of my trip to the Greenwich Observatory – I was equally enthralled by the sky then. (But it wasn’t so HOT.)

Well, the shoot was a lot of fun. The three photographers were maniacs and the three bengs were hilarious. My goggles kept falling apart, much to my dismay. lynn’s cape was really very pretty, though very troublesome to arrange; thankfully there was no shortage of handmaidens. shuui’s tripod only came in handy at the end, when she insisted we take a group shot, albeit sans wigs and outer layers of costume.

I think the photos’ll turn out really nice :)
