I have now garnered access to Sister’s blog. Brother’s blog I found via Google a long time ago, hoho; but Sister, she told Father and me the address, plus password and userid out of the blue. After reading some of the more recent entries, it seems that her motive in doing so was to get Father to read about her current fascination with Christianity, in the hope that he’ll allow her to go to church. Being the superficial creature that I am, I zoomed in on a paragraph that implied that she’s happy she lost weight recently. Ah, just when I was resigning myself to a BMI of 18.95 and a belly any expectant mother 4 months away from delivery would be proud of.

(Brother writes a really wicked blog, which I quite admire.)

I’ve just finished watching the series, well, sort of, since the file’s a bit faulty for the last 15 minutes. Addictive series, even though I didn’t like the two leads at all. The guy (Itoh Atsushi) is a pathetic crybaby whose idea of acting is to scrunch up his face and squeeze out tears. The girl (Itoh Misaki) looks…weird, even though someone thinks she’s the most beautiful Japanese actress he’s seen. She doesn’t quite make my skin crawl, but something like that.

I loved the supporting cast to bits. Sakurai with his remote-controlled cars, bizarre fantasies and REMOTE-CONTROLLED HELICOPTER! The female lead’s brother (Mokomichi Hayami) was delectable eye candy. Jinkama (Shiraishi Miho) is my favourite character in the show, she’s so fun and violent. The people on the message forum stole the show all the time. The computer programmer, who’s really cool and has his own sob story, was my favourite.

The movie stars different people, thankfully. Nakatani Miki as the female lead! She’s really classy.

WAHAHAHA! I haven’t been to a concert for ages.

Dinner at Liang Court today. The main purpose of going there was to look at Meidi-ya and try the udon there, but we saw a banner for a Japanese restaurant on the 4th floor, 20% if we ate before 7pm. Of course we tried it. I forgot to take photos! But the food’s good and the price isn’t bad, you can get a set for $10 before the discount. We were the only non-Japanese in the restaurant, heh. I had gyu sukiyaki; Penance had saba shioyaki set PLUS 8 California temaki PLUS 2 sticks of some yakitori. Stuffed? heh. Then spent more than an hour trawling Meidiya.

OH NO! I forgot to watch or tape Project Runway on Monday! Why was that -_-;;; Instead I watched a Japanese medical drama on Channel U. *whacks self*

Went to parma’s birthday party tonight and played the pig game with Shmeen etc. It was really quite crowded at the condo, so I had to park in the HDB estate across the road. Condos should come with more vistor lots.

I watched Harry Potter earlier today, spoilers ahead.

In the evening I joined the girls for dinner to celebrate lynn’s birthday. We ate at Crystal Jade at Suntec, where I filled up on Chinese tea for the second time in a day. (I’m still not tired now…) Quite unfortunately the present turned out to be erm…a bigger version of what she’d just gotten.

[Aiyah. The wig. *damn sad*. It was just an unfortunate mix of assumptions and miscommunication.]

After that we headed to the top of the fountain to sit and chat, NYDC being too crowded for us to get dessert. The highlight: sneaking down to NYDC with min and ko to buy a cake, and then skulking around back up there trying to borrow a lighter while shuui did a commendable job of distracting lynn. The flame KEPT going out, so this really nice lady lent us her lighter so we could light the candle literally behind lynn’s back. Second highlight: Ko doing funny things with a melted Willy Wonka bar.

Lunch to celebrate First Aunt’s 60th birthday was at Noble House at UIC Building. My eldest cousin hastily reserved tables and called up the relatives just 2 days before the event!

I never fail to awe myself with how STUPID I can be. This takes the cake, really.

Today was a massive celebratory shopping trip to mark the end of yet another posting. Penance and I, armed with birthday angpow money and vouchers, headed for town and spent two meals and nine hours there.
