I am…so bad at anything involving a needle and thread. I guess this means I can’t really be a surgeon either, haha. For a moment I was trying the instrument-tie with my cloth scissors. Of course fail lah. Shoes are half done, I just need to see if stick-on Velcro will work or not. I don’t really want to SEW Velcro onto anything.

[edit: just spent 3 hours on Sunday morning trying to sew 6 sets of press studs *dies*. Another six sets for the other shoe! Spent 1 hour in all trying to tie knots. I am sooo not suited for surgery.]

I have finished watching Nodame Cantabile (TV adaptation). It’s set in a music academy, so classical works are widely featured. Watching the orchestra play was thrilling, much more so that just listening. I think music is so much more moving when you have a visual to it, but perhaps that’s just me. The female lead, Nodame Megumi, is a crazy pianist, and I’m really quite inspired to sit at my piano again even though I can only play one of the songs that she breezes through. (The one in the first episode because it’s slow and has fewer notes than the others.) The male lead looks like Takeshi Sorimachi’s younger brother, all dark chiselled looks and burning eyes XD. The comic elements are surprisingly well-adapted to the small screen. (think whacking people with big fans and tying them up in ropes.) Oh, and the hilarious fake gaijin accent that Stresemann has!

Okay, on to searching for scores online. Please watch this series.

P.S. If you looked at the sky in the late afternoon/early evening today, don’t you think that the clouds looked like silvery scales?

I’m rather bored this morning as it’s selfstudy break for me. In between watching Nodame Cantabile and reading up on dermatology (I need to use images.google!), I’ve decided to do something mildly constructive.

Minoru Restaurant
Went out with QY to Minoru Japanese Restaurant at Hong Leong Shopping Centre all the way in Clementi for lunch during the holidays.

Sashimi set
Both of us had the sashimi set (S$18).

I think I’ll start keeping accounts from today onwards. It should be easy with a pocket PC after I fashion an Excel spreadsheet. Losing my camera in Europe was horribly painful in many ways. Several cosplays in a few months and eating out with friends hurt me rather badly; let’s not even talk about my horrible lack of self-restraint in Hong Kong. AND THAT REF BOARD WILL COME INTO EXISTENCE EVEN IF IT KILLS ME! If all goes well I’ll make a zipboard and cosplay Dot Matrix next. My debit card bounced on me today at Giordano’s, meaning that there’s not enough left in that account!

I really want to save up to get a new camera early enough to learn how to use it properly before graduation trip. And before I’m separated from my fellow photog-wannabe forever. The stocks go into next year’s trip, so I can’t use them to pay for the camera first. (shuui don’t blame yourself for this. you are a very convincing and honest person.)

And woe! Here come Transformers and Harry Potter!

Have finally finished my blog posts about Hong Kong.

Here they are:

I left the blogging till too late, so I’ve forgotten half the things I wanted to say.

This is a light, brainless, flippant post.

Went out to Pek Kio Food Market for lunch today. It’s actually nearer to the Skin Centre than Novena Square, according to the street directory.

Prawn mee at Pek Kio Food Market
Everyone had prawn mee! For $3, one gets a small amount of noodles and 5 prawns, but the best part about this dish was the soup.  Larger portions are available.

Chwee kueh at Pek Kio Food Market
C also ordered chwee kueh as a side dish. Interestingly, the chwee kueh came as one huge paper plate-sized entity. Shared three amongst the six of us. The filling is good, rather sweetish; and the chilli’s not that oily.

Afternoon clinics were rather fun; we were with Dr M, who’s really chatty and helpful. A local celebrity couple walked in! Can’t say more, but it wasn’t about cosmetic surgery. I was rather impressed by the eloquence and charm of the guy, who struck me as being a person living a full, balanced life, and happy with it. The next patient chatted with us students, at first asking us about medical school, and THEN finally asking us about the couple, which had been her aim all along.

Day 1 of Dermatology posting. (That sounds better than “day 1 of M5″.)

If I were an android I could re-programme myself so easily.

Good luck, everyone!

Claymore is my favourite anime of the current season. I went ahead to read the manga because episode 12 was the cliffhanger of all cliffhangers, apart from being very, very disturbing. Well, it only gets better and better. More on it later.

(if I get my body into shape I’m going to cosplay a Claymore. That’s a big IF.)

School starts tomorrow. NOOO.

Ask me to my face, goons.

Then again, if you didn’t hear it from me personally, your existence probably doesn’t matter to me.

And I bet you wouldn’t admit it if I asked if you read read my blog.

[edit]
Have been inspired to get on with my Hong Kong entries by mr hucks’ site dedicated to Hong Kong. Ah, now that’s love for a country, lol.

Hello all, my posts about Hong Kong will be delayed. Somehow I can’t get up any motivation to do anything. Sister’s having exams next week and I’m struggling with her and wondering how I managed to do C Math 6 years ago; graphs and differentiation are about the only thing I can remember how to do.

I watched Ocean’s 13 with Turtlewoman etc yesterday. Why didn’t I watch the first two! Very funny, and lovely cinematography. (The whole film looks like different layer blending modes, but somehow my efforts with photoshop never turn out so nice.) Now I need to figure out how to make the jackpot machine work for me.

Lunch with QY today, so that means more food photos, and HK photos will have to take a back seat. KTV and dinner out tomorrow. I think it’s a good way to end the holiday.

I’m very amazed by the number of anime blogs out there, with very detailed episode summaries-cum-commentaries, and extensive screencapping. I’d love to start doing that for the anime I’m watching currently, but that’d take too much time. Uhm, have also been ensnared in various livejournals looking for icons. (p.s. can I make wordpress display icons too? am layout idiot.)
