Retrospective blogging seems to happen on Fridays, because I’m too tired to do much else, and because I’ve got a backlog of bloggables throughout the week.

On Tuesday I attended a piano recital by V. Khor with QY at Republic Polytechnic. The main draw for me were the Joe Hisaishi and Ryuichi Sakamoto pieces he would be playing, as well as piano intepretations of Radiohead songs transcribed by Chris O’Riley. The pianist himself reminds me of a certain surgeon that I can’t place a name to, but this is neither a positive nor negative comment.

The CG Mate and I have been dying to try Tenshin for ages, simply because it’s the only tempura restaurant in Singapore (I think) and has been very well received. The CG Mate’s birthday was but an excuse to step into Tenshin earlier this week. It’s been too long since we were last at Tsunahachi in Tokyo.

Today I organised the notes from my Medicine and Surgery elective, got rid of things on my desk that were not stationery or studying-related material, and rearranged three drawers of personal items with help from items from Ikea.

And played with my S5. (I’ve gotta name it! Dang.) Sometimes it just decides to respond to whatever I’m shooting and everything turns out nicely. Other times it’s on strike. Ah well. I think it only likes to take photos of pretty things. This means that…the quality of my photos still depend on what’s in front of the lens rather than what’s behind. Mada mada dane…

I have recently realised that precious few people actually listen to my radioblog (T_T) so I’ll have to post youtube links from time to time.

105 days till The Exam.

I have to work really hard from now on and reduce distractions.

  1. Clean up my room tomorrow to create a conducive environment.
  2. Limit social life to going out zero to one time per weekend. (Has the added benefit of saving my wallet.)
  3. Go back to NUS to study on Sundays – because on Sundays the carpark is free. Maybe alternate Saturdays too.
  4. Maintain an exercise regime. Waking up early to run just doesn’t work for me because I get so hypoglycemic and dizzy. Running after I collapse at home…well, discipline, discipline, discipline. Having the discipline to study means that I also have the discipline to run.

One of my Budapest photos on flickr has been included in Schamp’s newest edition of its Budapest guide. Click on the Pest link right at the bottom and look at the photo that appears in the top right corner. XD

Btw, the photo was taken with a really basic Nikon compact. I guess gorgeous architecture or scenery can never look bad. THANK YOU SO MUCH KENNY FOR LENDING ME YOUR CAMERA!

Anyway, Schamp has brilliant travel guides that are organised just the way I need. Do check them out. I spent today afternoon at Ter’s place discussing our graduation trip with the others. I’m itching to use my new camera already XD

This really makes my day; in addition to surg SIP FINALLY being over, and laughing my head off at Ter’s house. SOFT & COMFY!

Did my colorgenics profile again. It’s turning out to be quite a useful tool in assessing my current situation. Kinda like an FBC for the soul? *bad joke* Well, half of it is the same as the one I did a month ago -_-

With only 3 months left to The Exam, I’m starting to wonder what on earth I’ve been doing since Year 5 started?

Happy birthday lynn!!

We celebrated by going to Pitstop Board Game Cafe and laughing our heads off playing brainless games. The guy teaching us the rules was hilariously deadpan, and extremely patient because we kept interrupting his instructions to cackle. Oh, the food is rather nice (way better than Settler’s, anyway) and they have a wide variety of drinks.
