I think I might have bronchitis. Not that I’m audibly wheezing, but my cough seems to come from the middle of my chest and feels like I’m trying to cough my lungs out. I finally understand the kind of force that precedes post-tussive vomiting. (And no, I haven’t tried to auscultate my own rhonchi or get a chest radiograph.) Took the day off and slept plenty. So I spent my day doing song memes (see below) and catching up on Gundam00 and various dramas.

Okay, so I’m doing it again, this time with “P” assigned again by raydance.

1. Reply to this post and I’ll assign you a letter.
2. List (and upload, if you feel like it) 5 songs that start with that letter.
3. Post them to your journal with these instructions.

nb. to make it more interesting, either make all your songs have different genres, or different languages, or interesting youtube vids. =)

1. Plug in Baby – Muse
My favourite Muse song, with a darned cool riff and a quirky PV.

2. Pink Spider by hide with Spread Beavers
Classic, this is.

3. Petshop – Plastic Tree
From their early days when the Britrock influence was very tangible. This is a live video from their Shoegazer tour.

4. Plastic Cell – Matenrou Opera
Melodramatic rock, as befits the band’s name.

5. Panorama – MUCC
A folksy, bittersweet song, almost a ballad. MUCC wrote it in response to the breakup of La Vie En Rose, their hometown ’seniors’.

I got E from raydance, and followed her example of youtube linking.

Elegy – Plastic Tree
Element – Moran
EMPIRE OF THE LAGOON – 12012
Eraser -Memoire d’une fleur- alice nine
Exit – baroque

(Gargh I had to dig deep into the branches of my folder tree to find songs starting with ‘E’!)

I’m rather upset.
First I read the news that Bucchi is leaving Plastic Tree for another band. Right, so the core of Plastic Tree is still intact; but their activities will be put on hold while they search for a new drummer.

And next, I realised that I missed the deadline for pre-ordering their SHOXX 06-08 compilation and it’s now out-of-stock. Damn the main reason why I’m taking Japanese classes is so that I can understand what on earth they’re saying in their interviews.

*isn’t very happy*

Meme from qiong. I was tagged from Facebook, but somehow I’d rather the whole world know about me than the people on my Facebook network, lol.

Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to answer the questions and at the end, choose 20 people to be tagged. You have to tag the person who tagged you.

(To do this, go to “notes” under tabs on your profile page, paste these instructions in the body of the blank note, type in your answers, tag 20 people in the right–hand corner of the application, then click publish.)

Episode 17 of Gundam 00 was EPIC! Spoilers below.

*fuss*
I went over to lynn’s to leech the latest episode of Akai Ito, but ended up watching it there with her. At the end of the episode, we were going:
lynn: OH MY GAWT.
me: WTF.
both: ONE MORE WEEK TILL THE NEXT EP!

I think I know how I’ll be spending the next two Monday evenings.

Today I spoke with a European mother whose baby boy was recently diagnosed with a genetic condition. She was voicing her frustrations, “Here in your country it’s ‘Do this test!’ and ‘Come back in three weeks, we need to monitor him.’ I am so worried. I don’t have the right frame of mind to enjoy having a new baby.” Which was true. The baby can’t move as well as other babies; he can’t swallow very well because his throat muscles are weak, but he can still bottle-feed satisfactory. And his eyes are the prettiest greyish-blue.

Deluhi is my current love. They’re a pretty young band
Deluhi
Deluhi are, from left to right:
AGGY (bass), JURI (vocal), LEDA (guitar), SUJK (drums)

Their first PV, Hybrid Truth. (fangirl alert: watch out for 3:38 onwards where they insert droolsome stills of the members. Juri looks like he came out of a FF gamevid.) What I love about Deluhi are their tight, well-crafted songs with melodies that just don’t go away, and killer instrumentals. I’d kill to attend a live of theirs.
(lol min, ensoku’s This is a Pen tops the list of related links on the side.)

I think Leda is the main creative force, writing most (?all) of the songs and lyrics. He’s otherwise known as Yuto, bassist for Galneryus, a power metal/neoclassical band that puts out all-English songs. (But more about Galneryus later!) According to Taiki, my resident music guru, that’s why his solos are the way they are. And that’s where Deluhi’s copious use of English (grammatically correct and actually quite cheem) in their lyrics comes from too, I guess.

Leda’s demonstration on Young Guitar. Seriously, rock music needs to be watched live so that one truly appreciates the skill that goes into playing and arrangement.

The second demonstration, Two Hurt.

They’ve had four singles so far, three of which really rocked, the last being less memorable. Can’t wait for the first album.

On Monday evening I met up with seven other JC classmates for dinner.
