Good:
#1. My ‘O’ DVD arrived yesterday when I was post-call. I’ve watched a little tonight, and it’s awesome.
#2. I found out that cali=gari has reformed!

Bad:
#1. I’m on call again tomorrow.
#2. It hurts to swallow.
#3. The above two lines rhyme.

I survived my first call.
I only knew about it from my HO’s ward MOs, but we actually had twenty-seven new cases on our call! I just seemed like the patients would never stop coming in; the last case I clerked was at 7.40am. Granted, I had help from another MO for around four of the new cases in my territory.

The hospital seems to be a bottomless pit for admission. I was complaining to a staff nurse in a particular ward, whom I shall christen “A”.

Me: Gargh how many more empty beds do you have?
A: You just filled our last one.
Me: GOOD.
A: But we can still have corridor beds.
Me: *you just can’t win*

I desperately need to level up.

Because rie is away for the moment, I’ve taken to fangirling with the other love of my life.

I went for mask-fitting today, where they make you try on various masks; then place this spacesuit-headdress over your head and get you to talk/breathe while they spray bitter aerosol into it. If you taste the bitterness at the back of your throat, the mask doesn’t fit.

So the Drager (small) fits me, but the Kimberley-Clarke doesn’t. I guess my nose isn’t pointy enough. Nor my cheekbones prominent enough.

So I come home, check my livejournal feeds, and see this:

Yunho in an N95 mask (the 3M 1862, to be specific) at Gimpo Airport! The other four members weren’t in masks.

(I bet I’m the only DBSK fan who makes posts like this.)

Some pic-spamming because I’ve finally downloaded my handphone photos to my computer:

So 16 May 2009 was the pledge ceremony. I’ve gotten my MCR number, which will remain with me for life. Rather anticlimatic; I didn’t even think of asking my parents if they’d like to come ^^; Well, they only had space for one guest per attendee, and I don’t have any single person I’d feel good about dragging all the way down to NUS for.

Blue roses

I came back from work (my second day of being an MO proper) and found a mini-bouquet of blue roses on my table, a gift from my sister.

My heart almost broke as I walked out of the ward today. We left at 5.30pm, presumably because we had mee siam for lunch. (Eat mee siam can siam! so they say.) I wish I were still going to drive back there, park in the same lot, and take the same lift up tomorrow.

But it’s the start of a new posting tomorrow. Life only gets worse; I’m terrified, but keep telling myself that thousands have made the leap before.

I’m horribly tired, but going to sleep only means that tomorrow will come sooner.

It’s always fun in the paediatric wards when there are toddlers well enough to be running around. After one little girl was mesmerised by her red-lacquered toenails in open-toed sandals, my consultant mused, “Perhaps we should make it mandatory for paediatricians to have pedicures with fantastic nail art.” At which point I turned my back to my consultant and wiggled my dark maroon toenails at said little girl. “Ah, PL’s trying it too,” quipped the registrar. I recalled an incident one month ago, where one little boy kept chasing my feet, his grandfather going “Look! Doctor has black nails!”

I’m going to miss this place. Off to the seafood central, as WQ says ><

I should be updating my picspam, but I just CANNOT get the echoes of DBSK’s 9095 out of my mind.
