Archive for August, 2009

So I attended my first Plastic Tree concert: Tent at Nippon Budokan on 30 August 2009. The reason why I’m even in Japan at this time of year. It was rather nervewracking getting the tickets; shuui had to help me enter three ballots before I finally got one.

Headed out for the concert at 3pm. Got to Nippon Budokan slightly before 4pm.

Kitanomaru Park
It’s within the Kitanomaru Park. By following the crowd of lolis and Ryuutarou cosplayers. I met up with a fellow Singaporean who was also there to watch Plastic Tree, in addition to other bands.

Hello world! I’m now sitting in shuui’s room on A-san’s bed staring at her Mirotic poster. Didn’t do much yesterday except for seeing the Gundam at Odaiba and having dinner overlooking the bay. Rudimentary iPhone photos on my Facebook; the real deal comes later. Today is more geekdom because I’m going to Studio Ghibli and Akihabara. Was so tired yesterday that I fell asleep while chatting on my iPhone. Shuui said “I figured you were gone when I stopped hearing sounds from your phone.” but awake today and raving to go!

Part of me is really happy that I’m finally going on leave to the land of my dreams; and part of me is sad to be leaving. Will be really depressed after I get back from Japan; all that withdrawal from so many different sources will just kill me.

Okay folks, will be back on 6 September. Don’t miss me too much!

p.s. to all those who’ve asked me to get stuff, I will try my best! But my schedule’s really quite packed despite me being there for quite a number of days, so…if I can’t get what you want, I’m really sorry in advance.

So I’ve been completely besotted by the fanvids of Jaejoong and Yoochun at the recent Boy Pop Factory gig at Zepp Tokyo.

They did a brilliant cover of “Been So Long” by m-flo. Unfortunately there’s no clip that has BOTH of them in a single frame (woe, I want to see their onstage chemistry!), so here goes:

Jaejoong-focused. *goes incoherent*

Yoochun-focused, he’s doing all the rapping.

The withdrawal is killing me.

I tried! I really did step out of the house with nary a stroke of eyeliner or dash of mascara. My willpower failed after two hours; where I just couldn’t resist penciling in just the teeniest line because my lids looked so uncomfortably bare. Sister rolled her eyes at me.

But well. Dinner was at Jangshou at the Esplanade. Photos below:

More evidence of occupational hazard:

*at an ice cream joint*

Staff: Having here or takeaway?
Colleague: *very long pause* having here.
*walks to seat*
Colleague: I almost said “inpatient”!

Anyway, this morning the scales really killed me. But it was all worth it. Photos later!

And my iPhone knows I’m a doctor! It comes up with really cool word suggestions when I’m typing, like ‘meningitis’ when I’m not typing ‘morning’ very accurately.

So I had dinner at the Mushroom Pot At the Indoor Stadium yesterday. The dinner buffet gives you a choice of five starters, any of six to eight types of soup, and the usual steamboat items.

I’m really proud of myself. I woke up at 7.15am, had breakfast, then returned to sleep and only woke up at 10am.

I had a semblance of a social life today! Went down to ToyCon at Suntec City after class, fighting my way up the escalators. I walked up to the sixth storey, gripping the handrail for dear life because I do have a teeny fear of heights. Photospam ahead.

And the first thing I saw was raydance!
