Rather angsty for various reasons:

A preview of Plastic Tree’s upcoming single, “Sanatorium”. The opening is wistful with really pretty guitarwork; the chorus is representative Plastic Tree fare. Can’t wait for this to be released!

Because we recently saw Gackt in town, I started thinking about my favourite songs from the Malice Mizer era. And “Regrets” is one of them, absolutely heartbreaking and beautiful.

The Beatles – “When I’m Sixty-four”. Recommended by qiong because it’s such a sweet, quirky song. With really funny animation.

I woke up late on 24 October 2009, a Saturday for once. I was born on a Wesdnesday, child full of woe, which probably accounts for my melancholic song choices. Feeling rather headache-y and flu-ish, I only dragged myself out of bed to watch the Visual Rock Festival online. OMG. I’m ecstatic they actually managed to broadcast it live for the overseas audience. Caught D’espairsRay performing Redeemer and Garnet; and was so happy they switched over to Plastic Tree on a different stage after. They played Makka na Ito, Melt and Baria. XD. Can’t freakin wait for the new single.

And today, I rushed home from work to watch bits of the festival before heading to town for Japanese class. Managed to see Matenrou Opera. They’re fast moving up in my list of favourite bands! And La’cryma Christi announced their reunion; albeit only for a year, but I do hope they’ll extend further.

Also caught raydance at the Black Alice booth at ISETAN and shamelessly helped myself to the candy buffet.

Dinner yesterday was omakase at Nagomi at Cuppage Plaza, a small, cosy restaurant that we’d have missed if we hadn’t known the exact store number. The owner/chef is a very charming gentleman who explains every dish served. Photos ahead!

I’ll explain the title eventually in this post! After putting you readers through a long drabble of how my day went, of course.

I met rie for lunch at Mr Curry. Our original plan to sing KTV at Ang Mo Kio was shelved because of her sore throat. On my way there, I was wracked with the worst cramps I’ve had for a few years; bought paracetamol, gulped it down; and proceeded to writh with agony on the couch at Mr Curry while rie oohed and aahed over the DBSK’s Prince in Prague photobook I’d passed her. I’d also brought along a Yunho postcard for her. (The photoboook and postcard are key items in today’s storytelling. Please remember them.)

Fushimi-Inari Shrine

We went to the Fushimi-Inari shrine early in the morning, home to so many torii (vermillion gates). Each one has inscriptions of the date it was erected and who it remembers.
