Okay PL, remember the many times you said you wished you were an android?
Here’s news for you: you already are. And it’s not what you thought it’d be, is it. Your programming just doesn’t cut it. You’ve got to be human, to live with humans, to know how they feel. And to know when you’re hurting them; yes, all the times you didn’t realise it.
Good luck trying to turn human.
And no, do NOT activate masque mode. It’s not going to help matters.
P.S. That’s a rather nifty lacrimal programme you have. Doesn’t make you human, though. It’s convenient, but ever so false.

Occupational hazard warning alert:
In the MO room on Thursday:
Fellow MO: PL, do you want to raise your gamma-GT with us tomorrow night?
me: AIYAH! I AM ON NIGHT SHIFT!!! *SOBS*
The other MO took some seconds to get it. LOL.
(Gamma-GT, or gamma-glutmyltransferase, is a biochemical marker of liver function that becomes deranged after alcohol consumption.)
Okay. The medgeek talk ends here.

The newest DBSK single, “Break Out”. Love the dark, gritty tones of this PV! It’s Yoochun’s shining moment. Jaejoong gets waaaaaaay too little screentime, dammit. Watch out for the white-gowned beauty at 2:30. (Yes, I want feathers adorning my eyes, too!)
So I met up with avaris for dinner at Mr. Curry yesterday to pass him my one-tetrabyte external disk, partially filled with DBSK videos and stuff. avaris asked worriedly at the end of the evening, “uhm, it’s not FULL, right. I don’t think my harddisk has that much space left.” Also showed him my Prince of Prague photobook, the pages of which he turned in a quiet, dignified manner. (Well, it’s a different world on Twitter with people like qiong egging one on.)
It was unexpected bumping into Joyce and her husband, Sam, at Mr. Curry. Sam actually remembers my name! “I remember you! WHO PL, right!” Was fun talking to them for a bit.
Ended dinner by turning the conversation to fantasy novels. I started reading “The Magicians” by Lev Grossman after avaris raved about it; was only 50% through by dinner last night, but I’ve since finished it. Interesting concept of magic; and dysfuctional characters that made me rather depressed at the end of the book. Definitely worth a read, nevertheless. Should I get started on the last book of the Wheel of Time series? I can’t remember anything that happened in the first nine books; and Rand, with his three intended women, seriously pisses me off. The series lost all cred for me the moment that prophecy came to light.
Bought azuki caramel from the Japanese supermarket XD XD I succesfully got avaris hooked on it! Potong icecream in individually caramels, really portable and available. Dropped by the fridge’s to pass him a box after I left Central; and very coincidentally, he had an entire box of potong icecream in the freezer. LOL.

Welcome back to blog, masque. The past months I’ve been posting status updates on FB. It didn’t use to be like that; the primary reason for getting FB was for me to see my friend photo and keep in touch with acquaintances – they’re always there, just a search panel away!
Have been neglecting my blog recently. I first started out in the online world as a blogger, staying steadfast on my own domain and server even as my peers jumped on and off the blogging bandwagon.
I’m going to ignore my FB. Too many colleagues are my friends. There’s Twitter for the random, inane posts. There’s Livejournal where I’m connected to the people who matter. And there’s this blog, my home, which precious few of those I know read.

Am so tired. But I’m glad that everything has been cleared up.
Yesterday I realised that I failed so badly. So selfcentered. So thoughtless.
Will do better from now on. Before i lose what I have.

I wish I didn’t fail at so many aspects of life.
My second New Year resolution: no more crying. Enough tears have been shed over the past 2.5 months.

Am now sitting in the movie theatre waiting for Avatar to start. I’ll b rather sleep-deprived from now on, seeing that renovations for the other half of the semidetached house I live in will start tomorrow. (For a family of five, with one daughter married out, one daughter soon to be married out, and one son stufying overseas, they sure want to add on a lot of rooms.)
Minor updates on my life: Nasonex really works! It’s a steroid nasal spray for allergic rhinitis, which has been the bane of my life since I could remember. I sort of grew out of it in university, only to have it recur very now and then, and with a vengeance the past few months. (I think I’m allergic to work!) Spent $39 on one bottle, and saw results within a week. Great stuff.
Did a repeat body analysis at the gym today. I’ve lost two kg over the past two months, but it’s a loss of three kg of muscle with a gain of one kg of fat. Hideous. I need to start eating properly instead of skipping meals on shift, only to snack after I get home. I guess my new year resolution will be to embark on a low-fat-eat-more diet. I also read the recent Time article on epigenetics (fascinating stuff); so I’m now rather worried that my years of anorexia followed by unhealthy eating habits might affect my generations to come.
Trailers starting now.

Welcome to stolen colours at 13hourstolove.
It’s a bigger, better, cheaper webhost with better support, I hope. Am sharing this with rie, my partner in crime. 13hourstolove, because there is a 13hour time difference between us. Well, 14 now, with daylight savings.
It’s 10.01.10, a happy binary date for moving.
It’s been rather a ride transferring my blog: first, there was a file limit which prevented me from uploading my .xml database; second, I lost the UTF8 encoding when chopping up the file in notepad++ and had to do it all over again; third, I had rather a headache over the layout since I’m completely lost with php. This header of this layout is taken from one of my Kyoto photos though the body of the template is from online; but I’ll do better soon.
I’m definitely missing my previous domain, black-brollies.net as it references Death as we know her from the Sandman comics, and it’s the literal translation of Kuroi Kasa, the title of one of my favourite Plastic Tree songs. I went from coding posts in HTML and manually uploading them in the first incarnation of my blog; to Movable Type, and finally to Wordpress. Am looking forward to playing with my own layouts again soon.
Taking a walk down memory lane: this is the first post I made when I moved to the black-brollies.net server.
