I could blog about happy things.

Like the JC meetup at Marche on Saturday when Hoe Wan was back from China, and how we rushed to get Royce chocolates at Takashimaya before it closed.

Or the lunch at Qianyi’s on Sunday where I ate the best yusheng ever.

Or the asterisk meetup on Monday at Ma Maison because Shan’s back from Scotland; with Whittard’s hot chocolate lucky pick and too-small portions that saw us heading to Macdonald’s for more prosperity.

But I won’t.

I can’t will myself to be happy. I’ve made too empty promises. I’ve done too much hurting.

I stumbled on this indie Canadian alternative band, Metric, while reading a yunjae fic, lol. This is “Twilight Galaxy”, acoustic version performed by the vocalist and guitarist. It’s beautiful, simple, and haunting.

Had a steamboat reunion dinner with my nuclear family on CNY eve, then went for night shift. So many GEs and patients with rash after eating abalone, or head injury after getting drunk. *twitches*

Spent CNY day 1 in a postnight stupor, nine hours of sleep debt in the balance, no thanks to two night shifts in succession. Headed out for lunch with my extended family at Sakura. My 4-year-old nephew is the cutest thing ever! His birthday was on Valentine’s Day, so my cousin was telling us how he helped baked his birthday cake: “I told him, put the flour on the weighing scale till it reaches TWO-FIVE-ZERO.” Why is the youngest child always the cutest? Or is it because the fact that he’s male (and with two older sisters) triggers some inner paedophilic instinct in me? LOL.

Then went visiting in the evening and fell asleep after dinner there, for THREE HOURS, to my mortification. Sleep debt: five hours. And I was working the next day T_T

So I was reading The New Paper’s feature on zodiac compatibility.

Rat
- chemistry with Ox, Rat, Monkey, Dragon
- not compatible with Horse, Rooster, Rabbit

No wonder I don’t see eye to eye with my brother (rooster) and sister (horse). LOL.

Thank goodness for the weekend. My CNY Day 1 is free-ish since I end work at 8am that day, so am rather looking forward to that. Will need lots of concealer on that day, though!

Had dinner at Chang Korean BBQ at Dempsey yesterday. Photo alert!

Uhm. Please don’t kill me.

I was giving lynn my bank account number so she could transfer some funds over.

me: my DBSK account is xxx-x-xxxxx.

me: shit, I mean DBS account.

lynn: …dbsk acct. DBSK ACCT. *dies*

me: not intended!

lynn: *goes to die*

me: well, technically my acc is a dbsk acc, seeing how much I spent on them.

I think…fate hates me sometimes.

Granted, a lot of my wrongdoings stem from my own faults and mistakes.

But THIS! I didn’t do anything wrong! I didn’t harm anyone! OMG why is this happening to me. These things only happen in Korean dramas. WHYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So I was on leave from Monday to Saturday (1-6 February) last week. It was a good break, with lots of meeting ups, too much food, and too little spring-cleaning.

Monday: spent bumming at home; fridge came over.
Tuesday: shopping and dinner with lynn.
Wednesday: Big Night Out! MUSE LIVE XD XD
Thursday: went to hospital for lectures after getting home late from the live (dies).
Friday: dinner with ying, songster, ko, Richard at Saizeriya; plus Photoshop tutorial at Starbucks after XD XD
Saturday: dinner with fridge. Wherein lies the second part of this post with foodpron.
Sunday (okay, not counted as leave but it’s still a weekend): started shift at 7am (dies again); and finally, dinner out with my family. Haven’t really had dinner with them for ages. And spent more money at Bugis Village. I Swear, no more CNY shopping for me!

Happy birthday to Qiong~!

(And happy birthday to Jaejoong, too, lol.)

It’s a standing joke that I only remembered rie’s birthday after I found out that Jaejoong has the same birthday. Well, she still doesn’t remember mine! Which resulted in us sending mistimed birthday greetings in the past e.g.

rie: OMG I forgot! Happy belated birthday!
me: Um, qiong, it’s July. My birthday is in October.
rie: Oh. Er, happy early birthday then!

And equally mistimed but greatly appreciated presents, lol.

rie: I’m sending a poster to you! Happy birthday!
me: Uhm, it’s January.
rie: I KNOW XD

On a different note, I got spammed this hilarious X Japan interview video on Facebook: yoshiki and hide rib each other about their eating preferences. hide, you’re adorable.

Went for the Muse concert on Wednesday 3 feb at the Singapore Indoor Stadium.

It was absolutely mindblowing XD XD

Follow the cut for the boring details leading up to the concert.

I was actually slaving away during the morning yesterday. (Ugh, got a last minute call yesterday)

Got home and rested a short while before meeting lynn to complete my quest of buying something red for the new year. I managed to find something at Far East, checkered deal like last year XD. No, that’s NOT cheating.

I realised, once again, that it’s so much easier to burn money than to earn it.

Had dinner at the Korean restaurant at Orchard Central. Ginseng chicken soup, and bibimbap, which made me feel properly nourished. Wandered around the basement, which is a mismash of different worlds encased in pretty cool architectural designs. There was a mini photography exhibition going on, pretty awesome.

Wandered back to Orchard for Etude House and Ion. Somehow lynn brings out the girliness in me and I always end up spending lots whenever I go shopping with her.

It’s really good meeting up with friends again. Am sorry I’ve been kinda neglecting you all for the past few months due to my reluctance to shift my body out of bed to the computer. Why sleep for only 7 hours, when I can snooze for 11? Ahahaha.
